We are so sorry…
As you know, due to the current health crisis we recently emailed to inform you that the 2020 Giant Easter Egg Hunt had to be cancelled. We then said we would refund tickets but still provide, via a drive through system, free eggs to ticket holders. We were very excited about this and until now, that has been our solid intention.
Unfortunately with the latest changes announced by state and federal government we cannot, in good conscience go ahead. Your health, the health of your children and the health of our volunteers is important to us. Therefore we need to do the right thing and cancel the event completely. Sorry, no drive through eggs.
We email you at this time to give you as much notice as possible so you can source eggs elsewhere if you haven’t already. We hope you can create a hunt at home that still brings a lot of joy to your family!
Our prayers and thoughts
You continue to be in our prayers and thoughts during these uncertain times. We pray God’s richest blessings on you and your family. We pray for good health, for steady employment, for calm and rational thinking and that love would defeat fear. Let’s continue to look out for one another, be good neighbours and bind together like never before in unity and in hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Easter Church Services
If you were interested in joining us for church this Easter, we will be hosting live streamed online services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. You can stream these services live at www.lmc.org.au at 10am.
Let’s look forward to the 2021 Giant Easter Egg Hunt!

The short version…
- The Giant Easter Egg Hunt has had to be cancelled.
- Full refunds are coming your way.
- Let us help you run an egg hunt at home with free eggs!
The longer version with detail you need to know:
Well the queries started coming in this week, “what is happening with the Giant Easter Egg Hunt” and our reply was simply, “watch this space, we’ll let you know later in the week.” We did not want to cancel quickly but rather look at all our options. We hope the option we have decided upon will egg-cite you!
As you would know, the Government has now banned any non-essential gatherings over 100 people. So with that in mind and our desire to be wise and do the right thing, we have no choice but to cancel our beloved event.
So what does this mean?
- Well firstly, it means that… Yes! You will get a full refund, minus the booking fee charged by Trybooking. No questions asked on the $12 per child you have paid to us. We’ll begin processing those refunds from today and refunds will, over the next few days, begin to arrive back into the credit account you used to make your booking. That’s the right thing to do.
- Easter isn’t cancelled! And if we can help it, neither should your Easter Eggs! As a church community we are still going ahead with ordering and purchasing the eggs on your behalf today. And we will provide them free of charge to ticket holders! We still want to bless our community and provide some hope and joy to children in these uncertain times. That, we believe, is the Christian thing to do.
How will this work?
- We will refund your ticket purchases, but we will not cancel or void your ticket. Your ticket will still be valid and scannable.
- If you would still like to collect a bag of easter eggs to run your own Easter Egg Hunt at home you can!
- Bring your ticket, on the day Saturday 11th April 2020 at your normal session time as listed on your ticket. We will have a drive through system in operation! You will not need to get out of your car. Simply hold your ticket out the window, we’ll scan it and we’ll provide all valid ticket holders with a free bag of easter eggs to share!
- In the preparation and storage of the eggs and in their distribution, we will do everything that is possible to make sure this is done as hygienically as possible. Of course, if you have any reservations, please feel free not to attend. We will make good use of any leftovers at the end of the day by blessing other community members.
Our prayers and thoughts
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all during these uncertain times. We pray God’s richest blessings on you and your family. We pray for good health, for steady employment, for calm and rational thinking and that love would defeat fear. With the 2018 Giant Easter Egg Hunt just around the corner, we thought we’d address the questions that are commonly asked:
Last year’s Easter Egg Hunt sold out weeks in advance and we had over 200 families on the waiting list, who we were unfortunately unable to accommodate.
Tickets to the 2018 Egg Hunt will go on sale at 9:00am on Monday, 12th February. We advise that you book in quickly to avoid disappointment.
See you then!
Looking for something to do with your kids on Easter Weekend in Melbourne? Why not bring them to the Giant Easter Egg Hunt?
Now in it’s fifth year, the hunt continues to be a Melbourne favourite, selling out each and every year. Limited to 1000 children, sessions are broken up into age group sessions, to allow the kids to run and collect eggs with others the same size. Nothing worse than getting bowled over by a big kid! (Do you have kids of different ages but want them to all go in the same time slot? That’s ok, we have open sessions too!)
Trying to keep things affordable, the cost is only $12 per child, with adults and siblings able to come and spectate for free. Included in the ticket price, is a free collectors bucket (please don’t bring your own, to keep things fair), the hunt (a generous amount of chocolate will be available to find!), two free rides on the giant inflatables, free face painting, and free balloon creations. All this, plus a DJ to energise us with his vibrant mix of music!
For those needing a snack or even lunch, a BBQ will be on the go with sausages for sale, cold drinks and fairy floss. The onsite cafe will have coffee, ice creams and other snacks available.
Sessions start from 9am with the event coming to a close around 1.30pm.
We hope to see you at this year’s Giant Easter Egg Hunt Melbourne! Easter Saturday, 15th April 2017.

Looking for the best valued family friendly easter egg hunt in Melbourne? Selling out at 1000 participants in 2014, the Giant Easter Egg Hunt hosted by Life Ministry Church is easily the best value and most fun you’ll have this Easter.
For only $10 per child, children receive a hunting bucket that they can take home with them, hopefully full of chocolately goodness after the hunt! With thousands of easter eggs available, your child won’t go home empty handed.
After they’ve finished their egg hunt the fun isn’t over! There is face painting, balloon making, music and of course our fantastic giant inflatable rides! With admission, every child gets two free turns on the inflatables. We have bouncy castles for the littlies plus a giant slide and the climbing wall for the more adventurous!
We hope you can join us this year for the Giant Easter Egg Hunt Melbourne!!
Tickets for the 2014 Easter Egg Hunt have been selling steadily, with session 2 at 10am already sold out. Sessions 1 and 3 are very close to selling out also.
Please don’t wait until the week before, as you may be disappointed, as many were last year when sessions became exhausted. Numbers are limited to 1000 and pre-booking is essential, no tickets are sold at the event on the day.
We look forward to welcoming you at the Giant Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Saturday, April 19th. Doors open from 9am for the 9.30am session. Parking is limited, so please arrive early for your session, as you may have a short walk to the ticketing area. We try to keep on schedule, so allow time to find the venue and park, we’d hate to see anyone miss out on their hunt! 🙂
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Refill Cafe and stalls, including a sausage sizzle, fairy floss, cold drinks and coffee etc. Note, Oxley Stadium and LMC surrounds are alcohol and smoke free zones, we appreciate your understanding.
Well what an exciting Giant Easter Egg Hunt 2013 was! We sold out with 575 kids in attendance, along with Mum’s, Dad’s, Grand Parents and siblings. Over 14,000 easter eggs were scattered and everyone walked away with a great collection. Hopefully the kids didn’t eat them all at once!
The free face painting and balloon animals, along with cheap fairy floss, popcorn and sausage sizzle were very popular, as were the rides on the bouncy castles, giant inflatable drop slide and climbing wall.
The easter egg hunt was such a great success that we are sure to be hosting it all over again in 2014! Make sure you get in early and book your tickets when they become available, as I’m sure they will sell out even more quickly this year.
Below are a selection of photos from the event. Thank you to all of our 60+ volunteers who helped make it possible and thank you for bringing your kids and taking part.
See you all next year at the Giant Easter Egg Hunt Melbourne 2014!
Tickets to the Giant Easter Egg Hunt are selling out quickly with the first two sessions close to capacity. If you know of others that have mentioned they are coming, but haven’t booked their tickets yet, you may want to encourage them to get a wriggle on to avoid disappointment.
We have now closed off the second open session to older ages, allowing another time slot for these most popular age groups, the Pre-school to Year 2 groups. Egg-citing that so many youngsters are getting ready to come hunting for their bucket load of chocolate easter eggs!
Our small army of face painters are gathering together, getting ready to make good on our promise of free face painting. There will be food and drinks available for purchase on the day, so bring some extra change along, however you are most welcome to bring some snacks or a picnic to save costs also.
We look forward to welcoming you on Easter Saturday!
